The overall objective of the project is the conservation in a favorable status, in accordance with the Habitats Directive, of some wide wetlands of the Po river Delta habitat: Coastal lagoons *, Salicornia and other annuals colonising mud and sand, Mediterranean salt meadows (Juncetalia maritimi), Mediterranean and thermo-Atlantic halophilous scrubs (Sarcocornetea fruticose), Mediterranean salt steppes (Limonietalia) * and various related species of birds, amphibians and reptiles.

The objectives listed below contribute to the achievement of the aim:
  • The start of a sharing and participation process to the conservation objectives of the Natura 2000 Network sites between private owners and public entities, in which the ecofriendly production plays a basic role for the conservation of these sites.
  • The improvement of water circulation in the Valli di Comacchio and Sacca di Scardovari (improvement of the conservation status of habitat coastal lagoons *), Valle Bagliona and Valle Ca 'Pisani (improvement of the conservation status of the mosaic of habitats).
  • The creation of approximately 8.7 acres of new nesting sites for Sterna albifrons, Sterna sandvicensis, Sterna hirundo, Gelochelidon nilotica, Charadrius alexandrinus, Recurvirostra avosetta, Larus genei, Larus melanocephalus, Alcedo atthis.
  • The creation of new breeding sites for Pelobates fuscus insubricus *, and the improvement of breeding sites for Emys orbicularis.
